I was kindly invited long gown dress along to the Eveden studios in London,
Fauve, the brands higher-end collection was for me a big hit. Ive never seen much from the brand up close but you can really see where the extra money goes all the extra detailing, embroidery and lush fabrics really give this brand a luxurious feel.
I was so impressed with the range that when offered a complimentary fitting and sample bra I went for a Fauve set. I will be reviewing it very soon!
yesterday to get a closer look at the A/W swimwear and lingerie collections for the umbrella companys off-shoots Freya, Fantasie, Elomi, Fauve and huit 8.
After at first getting a little swimwear manufacturer bit lost running around Oxford and Carnaby street trying to find the address I called the lovely Natalie Mortlock from Evedens PR department who directed me to the studio and gave me a walk through the collections.
Greeted by costume manufacturer juice, fortune cookies, sushi, Japanese lanterns and parasols I was guided into an oriental-themed room where the models had fans in their hands and chopsticks in their hair. Although the collections themselves dont really seem to have an oriental theme it added a touch of elegance.
Firstly, the Freya range was gorgeous some really pretty pieces for A/W 2011 2011 has been an exceptional year for the brand on the design front. Three favourites from the lingerie range were the Erin:
Ingrid:
And Neive, in both the standard balcony plunge and the long-line versions:
Unfortunately the long-line starts at a 30 back, but still a gorgeous item!
How about introducing a little drama into your lingerie drawer? Freya creates a must-see lingerie collection of fresh looks that fit perfectly.
With plenty of styles and vibrant prints to choose from and with sizing up to a K cup, youll be spoilt for choice.
A few more:
Two things to note are the expansion of the sports bra range into swimming costumes and tankinis for the active swimmer and the new style Deco with a little bit of extra padding. (see slideshow above!)
The new Fantasie range was beautiful although slightly more full coverage and more mature designs than Freya, I still adore this range for a more grown up and sophisticated kind of look. I have always one in particular stood out to me the Lynsey:
Such beautiful colours!
Be young, foolish and happy every single day with the beautiful new collection of lingerie from Fantasie.
With indulgent fabrics, sophisticated styles and effortless support right up to a K cup, youll feel good on the inside, great on the outside and have the confidence to dance like no-one is looking even if they are!
A few more images of the range:
The Elomi range was really impressive and promising. Although catered to a more curvy girl (it caters from a C to JJ cup and from 32- 48 back size) it is great to see a range so young, glamorous and fun for the plus-size girl. The model was raving about the designs and how important it was for the bigger girl to be catered for too everyone deserves to be sexy and Elomi really hit the nail on the head with this stunning collection.
Be confident in yourself and everything else will follow. The new collection of Elomi lingerie for the fuller figure features beautiful styles and luxurious fabrics that will hug, hold and support your curves in all the right places so you can have complete confidence in your great shape.
Finally the latest brand to be taken on by Eveden, Huit 8, a frecnch brand catered to smaller cup sizes had some gorgeous lingerie and bikini sets for the smaller bust they made me extremely jealous that I couldnt try them myself
This is a competition halloween costumes outlet which is close to my heart, as you may know I entered this year and made the top 30 but had to pull out due to other commitments. Despite my initial disappointment I have been following the competition like a hawk as a big Curvy Kate fan and after getting to know some of the girls through the wonders of social media I was overwhelmed by how great the finalists photos have come out. There have been nerves and promotional battles along the way but the girls who have made it this far should really be proud of their achievements.
Such a variety of girls tall, short, bigger lingerie manufacturer china and smaller backs, all shapes and sizes but all gorgeously curvy.Which highlights how some girls were surprised to find their bra sizes changed after being fitted at the shoot once again Curvy Kate champions spreading the word about healthy curves, brilliant fitting lingerie and how it looks on their customers.
I found it underwear manufacturer china really hard to choose just ONE girl but managed to but I genuinely think all of you are stars, especially in your bras.
To help you decide, why not check out this brilliant video with interviews by Invest In Your Chests favourite Curvy-Kate-r Becky Mount.
Im no fitting wholesale halloween costumes expert and have never claimed to be, but Ive tried on a LOT of bras on both myself and other women and have developed quite an eye for what makes a good bra for me and a lot of other women, and what doesnt.
For me, its all about the way the cups are constructed. It probably goes without saying that different brands can fit very differently (sometimes even bras within one brand can differ hugely), and some just seem to work for you, and some not so much.
For me, the ones which feel best and the ones Ill buy again and again and again not only fit beautifully but really lift my breast tissue from the root of my bust, or otherwise known as breast root.
I have recently had a huge clear out wholesale christmas costumes of my lingerie wardrobe, first getting rid of the ones which are clearly not my size or that Id fallen out of love with, but secondly I made myself try on everything that was left (admittedly still quite a fair pile oops!) and only kept those that truly FELT amazing.
Its gotten to a point that I will point-blank refuse to keep a bra just because it fits me okay or just because its sexier than Dita Von Teese in a leather catsuit. It has to really lift and support me, and theres something that I noticed whilst trying on fourty (ok, fifty) or so bras last week.
As someone who has a bottom-heavy bust, corsets wholesale thats where all the bulk of the weight is and bras which arent constructed to literally pull it all up from there are the ones I finally let go of in my brutal bra clear out.
I have a theory, and Ive called these bras root-lifters. They have superior cup construction (for my shape at least) and help balance my otherwise rather pear-shaped knockers. Let me demonstrate:
A root-lifter: The Freya Jolie
The bra has very soft cups, but the way it is constructed gives pretty stern support. The lift seems to come from directly beneath the breast tissue and with the help of the wires and straps, lifts the weight of the breasts upward and round. There is separation, but it is mild. The effect is your boobs, but better, and a comfortable distribution of weight.
A boulder holder: The Curvy Kate Princess
Now this isnt meant to mean the traditional meaning of boulder holder. It doesnt mean its ugly, it doesnt mean that its a full cup monstrosity that your granny wouldnt be seen dead in. It means that for, me, these bras seem to support and hold your bust in place, as opposed to lift from the root. Curvy Kate bras are prime examples of this. As you can see from the diagram below, the weight is distributed towards the sides of the cups a lot more, and the support is a lot more wide set.
Yes. I realise this is hardly a scientific test, but you can see what Im getting at and the way the bra cups are constructed to encourage a different type of fit.
Let me now try to describe to you, again via very primitively illustrated images, in my opinion how another two bras from these two same brands fit and lift me showing where I find that most of the support is coming from.
The root-lifter: Freya Sophia
The boulder holder: Curvy Kate Romance
All of these images were taken on the same day, from the same angle, and are all 30FFs, yet you can (hopefully!) clearly see the difference in shape and construction.
With a boulder holder bra, I find that a lot of the weight of the bust remains in the cup area and is not distributed so well to the band and straps. The bust therefore feels heavier and not so well lifted and supported, particularly for bottom-heavy breasts like mine.
The lift in a root-lifting bra is also a lot more upward, which prevents the dreaded East-West effect.
The best root-lifting bras and brands: Freya my favourite for comfort being the Jolie, Claudettes Neon Dessous, Cleo by Panaches Marcie.
Can anyone else identify with this theory? Or have I gone a bit nuts?
